Territory of operation

SmVaK Ostrava operates in the districts of Frýdek-Místek, Karviná, Nový Jičín and Opava, with water also being delivered as per contract to the cities of Ostrava, Hlučín, Studénka and other municipalities.

SmVaK Ostrava supplies the drinking water for more than 730,000 people through  130,000 service pipes (total length: 771 km). It also operates 65 wastewater treatment plants (61 mechanical-biological and  4 mechanical WWTPs) with the total capacity of  279,682 m3 per day (973,210 equivalent population).

It also supplies drinking water to a part of the Olomouc Region (Lipník nad Bečvou, Přerov, Hranice na Moravě) and to a border territory in Poland (Jastrzębie-Zdroj).
